【Staff Interview】 The Moisturising Routine I Found After Years of Struggling With Dry Skin

Kanon studies biological sciences at university.

She had originally been interested in careers related to research and development, including work in the cosmetics industry.

But around the winter of her 2nd year at university, she started thinking more seriously about her future.

That was when she discovered the idea of a long-term internship.

She began searching for long-term internships in the Kansai area.

That was how she found Earthcare.

And while she was considering her options, she found herself thinking again about one of the things she valued most at Earthcare: the people she worked with.

Being able to work close to people who made her feel that way became an important factor in Kanon’s decision.

There was another important reason too:

The products.

After joining Earthcare, Kanon began using Aquatect Gel herself.

She was not only learning how and why the company developed its products.

She was also experiencing them as a customer.

Those became major reasons why she decided to join Earthcare full-time.

When we asked Kanon what she likes most about Earthcare, her first answer was, once again, the people.

Even as an intern, she has an opportunity to speak directly with the company president once a month.

During the interview, Kanon also described the staff as “very human.”

From here, we asked Kanon about her experience not just as an Earthcare intern, but as an Aquatect Gel user.

Before that, she had been using commercially available toner and emulsion.

But dryness had been a concern for her since high school.

The time she found particularly uncomfortable was just after bathing.

But even after applying skincare at night, she would sometimes start feeling dry again by the time she went to bed.

The dryness also affected her makeup.

Liquid foundation did not always apply smoothly, and as time passed, it could sometimes appear cracked or uneven.

Her face was not the only area affected by dryness.

Kanon says her hands had been prone to dryness since elementary school.

For around 2–3 years, looking after her hands became part of her daily routine.

That experience naturally created a habit of trying not to let her hands become too dry.

Even now, she tries to moisturise after washing her hands.

That is also why she keeps Aquatect Gel on her desk at the office.

Kanon started using Aquatect Gel soon after joining Earthcare.

When she first used the recommended amount, the texture surprised her a little.

But by that same evening, she noticed something different from her previous routine.

Before using Aquatect Gel, even if she applied toner and emulsion after bathing, she often felt dry again by bedtime.

That made her feel, even after the first use, that it might be different from what she had been using before.

After using it for around 1 month, she also felt that dryness during the daytime bothered her less often, and that applying foundation had become easier for her.

Today, Kanon uses around 1 cherry-sized amount of Aquatect Gel on her face in both the morning and evening.

But that was not the amount she started with.

At first, she used around 1.5–2 cherry-sized amounts.

Then she gradually reduced the amount while paying attention to her skin.

Rather than assuming that the same amount would work forever, she paid attention to her own skin and adjusted accordingly.

After using Aquatect Gel for more than 1 year, this has become the routine that works best for her.

Kanon uses different sizes of Aquatect Gel depending on where she is.

At home
She uses the 250g size on both her face and body.

At work
She keeps Aquatect Gel on her desk and uses it on her hands after washing them.

When she goes out
She keeps a smaller size in her pouch.

During winter, when she tends to notice dryness across her body more easily, she naturally uses more.

Even a small comment like that shows just how naturally Aquatect Gel has become part of her daily life.

When we asked Kanon what she likes most about Aquatect Gel, she thought for a moment before answering.

Finally, we asked Kanon what she would say to customers who are unsure whether to continue using Aquatect Gel or Double Cleansing Gel.

That is why Kanon hopes customers will not always judge a product only from the very beginning.

She encourages people to give themselves a little time to observe how their own skin feels.

Of course, skincare experience and skin condition vary from person to person.

Kanon also says she does not want customers to feel that they have to figure everything out by themselves.

Because Kanon has personally dealt with dryness for many years and has continued using the products herself, her message feels particularly grounded:
